The Percolator Coffee Shop Identity
OPPORTUNITY
Create and design a brand identity package for a coffee shop.
SOLUTION
The Percolator is a larger chain of coffee stores that work to create an atmosphere of local, lodge like comfort with a little bit of quirkiness and fun to it. The logo is a jackalope holding a percolator and he fits perfectly into the brand. He is an imaginary woodland creature with a lot of attitude and a full
pot of coffee.
The three touch points for The Percolator were the coffee bag labels, hot cups, and gift cards. In order
to fit with the brand they needed to be fun, woodsy, and quirky.
The coffee bag labels each feature a different forest creature in order to create specific, recognizable icons for the different types of coffees.
The hot cups feature little bits of the jackalope logo, and the gift cards feature a funny definition for a percolator and a woodsy montage of icons.
The identity package for The Percolator includes a letterhead, envelope and business card. Each item contains a small bit of the logo, never the whole of him. These little pieces of the jackalope help create the playful and relaxed attitude that the coffee shops hope to convey to the consumer. The fun aspects of the logo are balanced out by very clean crisp type to remind the client that even though the coffee shops are more relaxed, it is still a professional company and is to be recognized as such.
