I designed this book for Australian-based poet Cameron Semmens, collaborating with illustrator Hamish McWilliam to create an ‘...intimate account of one man’s journey through the loving, losing and learning over a rather dramatic three year period of his life. Both raw and refined this universal tale is told with clarity, honestly, humor and insight.’ A simple, yet evocative style was conveyed through black, grey and white tones, intimate line drawings, subtle textures, intricate typography and a vast use of white space. The scarf was a central theme in the book, bringing unity to the various illustrations and a symbol of comfort for the main character, shown wrapped around him through it all his experiences. The poetry book was published by Searching for Oscar (2008), Melbourne, Australia. Read Less
