Construction Waste Management

What a Waste!
The construction and demolition sector is one of the biggest resource-consumers and waste-producers in our society, using up to 40% of the total raw materials extracted globally and generating about 35% of the world’s waste (CMRA, 2005; Schrör, 2011; Yuan et al., 2012). CDW can be defined as waste arising from the construction and demolition of concrete structures, masonry, roadbeds and asphalt pavements.
Urgent solutions are needed in Europe to deal with construction and demolition waste (CDW). EU policy has contributed to significantly reducing the amount of CDW going to landfill, but most of the effort has been put in downcycling practices. Therefore, further policies are needed to stimulate high-quality recycling of CDW.
What can we do!
The construction industry is making a turn! But let's make their prices a little bit easier with an implementation plan and a new philosophy
