PARADISE

Paradise can be a place of sacred or spiritual meaning. But it can also be a place of longing and fantasy,
detached from religions. Each of us has a very personal idea.

This project came about by asking different people questions about paradise. All of them were from different phases of life, backgrounds and environments . I asked them questions about how they imagine paradise and why people long for paradise.
Is this longing good for us or does it make us lose our claim to the present?

I interpreted all of these answers in large-format illustrations and developed an artist's book from them.
This illustration is about the limitlessness of paradise. In paradise everything is possible and physical rules are overridden. Maybe we can breathe underwater, talk to animals or develop unimaginable powers. All of this is possible in paradise.
A world without borders and full of fantasy.
This image was created for a quote from "Janosch". When asked what you do in paradise and what it looks like, he replied: "Everyone always does everything exactly right there." This statement was very special to me because it is so simple and true.
In order to interpret the content into a illustration, I decided to create an animal image in which all animals choose the same direction. You don't limit yourself, but float peacefully next to each other and naturally choose the right direction.
This series shows weightlessness in paradise. In contrast to our fast, moving world, it shows a peaceful state of suspension. The floating people automatically become one with their surroundings.
Thank you for watching and take some paradise vibe with in your day.
