Natural hazards affect anyone, anywhere. Few realize that this devastation can be prevented through disaster risk reduction initiatives.

DiREC is a centre to promote a culture of disaster preparedness in increasing the capacity to respond towards disaster. It creates beneficial leisure experience by incorporating the water based activities at the lake club.

When disaster strikes, a home is 'displaced' suggesting vulnerability. Fear cause us to fled home that ‘placed’ us in safety. 'Displaced' is redefined through the membrane-like tunnel that interweave through the building.

 

Deep space creates dark and mysterious background. Combination of warm greys and earthy hues interprets the concept of vulnerability towards disaster. These when combined with vibrant colours of lighting creates an ambiance of alarming situations.
