Big Kahuna Burger is a fictional Hawaiian-themed fast food restaurant that comes from the movie "Pulp Fiction" which was directed by Quentin Tarantino in 1994. Big Kahuna Burger, which is the full name of the restaurant chain, has appeared in many other of Tarantino's films.

The process of creating this project was to rebrand a business or company from a fictional movie or television show, and create a word mark logo as well as a letter mark.

Big Kahuna's word mark logo was created to capture the theme of Hawaii instead of a standard fast food hamburger restaurant. The type for the logo is a bold, sans serif typeface that was modified to symbolize waves of the ocean. The stems of the letters "K" and "H" were replaced with palm trees sitting in front of a sunset, and the letter "B" replaced it's negative space with a pineapple to further show its symbolism. The letter mark symbol took the letter "K" and placed the sun behind it. The symbol would be used for icons online and on mobile, as well as its food's packaging.
