This felt like a fun exercise as a form of escape since we are not able to attend any live shows at the moment. While I am not sure that this could be sustainable as it's own application or product, creating a filter or tab based on interests could be a new way to build a specific audience.

To take a look at the market I am going to look at two categories of products. One category would be apps that find & recommend live shows. The other will be products that appeal to a foodie audience.

This roundup article is Apple specific so I cross-referenced it with this article that included android competitors as well. 

Both articles gave a good idea of the ranges of apps recommended for self-proclaimed foodies. These included travel, restaurant review & info, restaurant coordination, and ways to prepare meals at home. Overall the types of products that can appeal to foodies really depend on what plans they have for the evening.

Next up we are looking at products that help discover live events near you or near where you are staying when you are traveling. This roundup gave a good range of products and use cases for finding something to do nearby.

Similar to the food apps above, these products have a wide range of use cases. They can help the user create and share their own event, find a professional event nearby, purchase or sell tickets to a professional event, find informal events nearby, and do a wide range of filtering to find the right fit.

As I stated before, a combination of these two category purposes would likely not warrant a product completely on its own, but rather an added feature to one of the pre-existing ones. Whether that feature should be added to the first category or the second is still hard to tell without user research. 

My initial thought would be to interview the users of the first category since the hybrid product would relate closer to their target audience. There's plenty of food festivals and food event to attend around the globe for all of the foodies!
