This project focused mostly on the conceptual development We had the ability to choose our clients but were required that the first floor be some sort of residential store, and that one of the residents have a collection  of our choosing.
My clients were two single fathers who were childhood friends , and decided to move in together to save money  while one starts their confectionery store on the first floor and the other goes back to school for a Masters in at a near-by University, but needed room to fit his comic book collection.

The Candyman Café’s concept revolved around  creating a Confectionery shop with a more modern appeal. To create a feeling of Whimsical Leisure the shop makes use of scan and go technology allowing for an easy and hassle free way  for customers to stay and experience, not only the shop but the historic town it is located.
The living space are split into two floors , but set up like a communal living house. Instead of the two families having their own separate units, the concept behind the spaces was Intentional Community would lead to the two families interacting and supporting each other. The second floor is completely communal  with a large kitchen, dinning and living area. There is a adult lounge, with storage for the comic book collection, and a private office. The third flood has two wings each with two bedrooms , a master and a kids room, there is one bathroom for the kids  off of the large rec. space in between the two wings.
