This shows the concertina photobook that I made with some of my working images so far. I like the design of this and think despite my images being rectangular, they work well in the square format and I think the order is relatively successful. Firstly, I like the design and the concertina design as it condenses the images into something quite small and unlike a book it allows you to see the pictures all in a row and it makes the narrative/sequence easier to see and understand. However, this method doesn’t lend itself to having larger prints of images and the quality of these images wasn’t the best however only being a first draft I wanted to see how the design would look. I think the order in which I’ve put the images needs to be greatly improved as there is no progression and it just appears like a jumble of images I have taken and so this is an area that needs improving a lot. I think the second to last image is too dark and as I have formatted it to be square it doesn’t work very well with the rest of the image and I should’ve picked a better one. I like this way of book making and feel it does have its advantages and would like to experiment with this technique again and focus more closely on the order and arrangement of the images. Another improvement would be to include images that suit the square format better and I might also try doing this with different sized images to see if this is possible with say 6x4 sized images.
