"Dollhouse" is about a dysfunctional family, who, according to Martinez, is "hiding being a perfect plastic facade". Martinez has also stated that "Dollhouse" is a metaphor for how people view celebrities and their seemingly perfect public lives. Dollhouse is also the second song of Cry Baby, and this song is also the first official song Melanie wrote.
I choose this song from Melanie Martinez because it's one of my favourite song from the CryBaby album, not only i love the aesthetic of the whole music video, i also love how Melanie Martinez uses visual to demonstrate the lyrics, how she metaphor the meaning of the song is perfect. Using a cute and perfect image to create a deep and imperfect meaning behind the whole music.
