Evolution - Time Life Book

TimeLife - Evolution

This project was a redesign of a TimeLife textbook originally published in 1962. The TimeLife series was a set of books, much like encyclopedias, that focused on one subject per book. I was randomly assigned the book Evolution, and given the original hardcover book to read, examine, and redesign. I chose to redesign the chapters that focused on nature evolving, with plants, food, and animals, because I felt that human evolution has been overdone and considered controversial. To incorporate the theme of Evolution, I designed the book to evolve itself, with the colors changing gradually from start to finish. I included a moon as my representative icon since it evolves with its phases. Once the book was designed, I sent it to print with Blurb Books, received it in the mail, and photographed the physical copy.
