ADVE2291 Design Lab 1: Identity Design
Hello! For my final project in my Design Lab 1 course, I wanted to end it with an update to my personal brand. I really wanted to change my image a start a new and improved style for myself. Going through the process of creating these documents from the logo to the layout was a truly awesome process and I'm very proud of the outcome of the final deliverables. With this project (like the most of them), the amount of knowledge I gained about design I think will truly help push me and my brand in the future to do great things!
Mind Map and Mood Board
Above you see my mood board and my mind map. Both of these were used to help me through out the ideation process. I would come back to these to find what I liked and how I would want my designs and layouts to be.
Design Ideation
Now above here are my sketches and design ideation for my logo, business card, cover letter, reference page, and resume. I played with a lot of different ideas and layouts during this time so I could get a good feel for how I wanted my brand to look.
Moving forward in the ideation process, I went through multiple font choice. I wanted to pick a font that would not only work with my brand identity but also have good readability when placed on my different papers.
Brand Identity Process
Here I took one of my sketches and I created vector shapes to really bring it to life. This part took some time to perfect and make sure everything looked exactly how I imagined it would. I really wanted to capture that flow and movement it has.
Once my final logo was complete I took the time to create more variations for my different documents. It was fun to play with the shapes and manipulate them to fit how I wanted them to.
Now I have moved over to InDesign and started to put a little more structure and thought behind the actual copy layout on each document. The document you see here is the start of my cover letter.
Back to Illustrator, I played with more color variation.
More color variants!
Now it was back to InDesign to put more work into my resume, reference page, and business card. Here I am actually playing with color and how I want to lay out my text on my resume.
The final color I went with for my resume!
