While interning at Richard Solomon Artists Representatives, I was given the opportunity to work on an assignment with illustrator Goni Montes. He selected an article about Neck Gaiters called "The Love Tube" from a skiing column that he did work for previously. From the initial thumbnails to final, Goni provided guidance as my Art Director. I had a lot of fun all throughout and I appreciate his generosity.
The author talks of his preference for using a neck gaiter because he doesn't want to support the growing "puffy mafia". To support that idea, I had the puffy jackets slowly expanding their influence to the main character, but he is not all that happy about it.
The image below I did for fun while I was waiting for Goni to respond to one of my emails. I figured that I liked a few of my thumbnail sketches, so why limit myself to doing just one? So there you have it!
