smarty - first stages of a flashcard learning app

smarty - flashcard app

This is a fictive project which I worked on during my UX course. It was all about moving through all steps of the design process.

Design Challenge
Duration: 2 weeks
Problem statement: Our proto-persona (a student in a second language) needs an easy way to structure her learning vocabulary, because she has a fast-paced life and struggles to stay on track.

Applied Methods
competitive analysis, interviews, persona, task analysis, user flows, wireframes (low-fidelity & mid-fidelity), usability testing
Insights into main user flow
Impressions of first sketches
I used these sketches to build a first clickable prototype which was tested by 3 users. Observations were clustered and rated by Jakob Nielsen's error severity rating. The usability test lead to improvements on key features already and lead to a revised prototype.
Revised Prototype
Fast user testing helped me to gather interesting feedback at an early stage and I could use it for creating a mid-fed prototype next. You can open the clickable prototype here.

So that's my first Behance project - I'm curious to explore this platform more and more. At the moment I'm not working on this UX project as this was all about learning the added value of fast user testing and showing small steps and rough sketches. Maybe I will continue improving user experience and UI at a later point. But for now I'm happy to share this early experience on my UX journey with you. ;-)
