Set Design and Decor for The Imaginarium

In the summer of 2019 I was a Decor Co-Lead for The Imaginarium, a venue at Shambala Festival, UK. My team and I developed a new visual concept for the venue, designing and building new sets as well as repurposing some of the old decor to fit our vision.

The Imaginarium is "a forum for ideas based on the coffeehouses of yore, a place to debate with strangers, exchange ideas and hatch out a visionary utopian plan for the world.." The venue is within a giant multi-peaked teepee-like tent structure and features all manner of talks, discussions and workshops.

In response to the venue's brief, we developed the concept of a new stage set of a face exploding with books, symbolising all the diverse knowledge and ideas the venue's presenters had to share with the audience.
Folded sculptural books were hung all over the venue from curving organic steel structures that climb out from the face. The face was CNC cut and layered to give it more depth and dimensionality. Bamboo decorated the stage and gave atmospheric lighting around the giant tent.
I designed the stage set on Rhino 3D.
