Luke Stilson's profile

Luke Stilson IM 113 Project 1

Original:  In one of the final shops I entered, this woman was staring in awe of the hand crafted jewelry and clothing of the store. Her expression is captured in profile.
Edited: Colors are adjusted to bring out the woman's face. Some unnecessary background is cropped out, also demonstrating the rule of thirds with this crop.  I adjusted the color in order to show the more important subject in front of unnecessary the less important background.
Original:  Waling into the first studio, the sun was setting, making the sky a vibrant blue.  I thought a low angle of the studio would show the environment of the event as we first entered.
Edited:  I cropped the image slightly, centering what I wanted ing the shot.  Vibrance is added to the blues and exposure is corrected in order to bring out the building and electricity line against the sky.
Original:  When entering a antique shop part of the event, a line of old style soda bottles caught my attention, and the small lettering "twist off" I thought was Interesting, So I took several angles of the shot and this was my favorite.
Edited: I cropped out unnecessary background in the image.  Exposure was very slightly adjusted just to brighten the dim area.
Original: An old style slot machine could be found in between two small stores, however not running with real money now. The blurred motion of the selectors is caught in this photo.
Edited: Exposure is corrected to bring out highlights of the buttons on the machine. Slightly cropped to center the machine.
Original: This elegant, simple clock was resting on an empty wall as I entered further into the galleries.  I thought it was a perfect opportunity for a simplistic rule of thirds.
Edited: Added a cooling filter to emulate the mood of the room.  Cropped to more clearly show the rule of thirds.
Original:  Walking into the second gallery these windows caught my attention. I noticed the symmetrical yet contrasting windows and bright red contrasting the wall in the background.
Edited: I corrected the straightness and cropped the photo to ensure symmetry.  I also adjusted the exposure, lighting the wall to its real life color.
