Conversations are progressively characterized by the lack of attention and eye contact, often limited to staring at a display. »Vis-à-vis« is a critical statement about the change of the way people communicate. The see trough vinyl fabric covers the entire body of the wearer and is a reference to our transparent society. Each hood has one part of a zipper attached to it. If the wearers stand close enough in front of each other, both segments can be connected. Both wearers are forced into eye contact – a moment of direct confrontation. The performance is limited in time due to the lack of the material’s breath ability.
Besides organizing the fashion show with my fellow student Bella Schäuble I was in charge of the teaser design. Every poster was individually hand painted with neon orange acrylic and orange spray cans.
