Fringe Festival, Poster Series
Description:
For the theoretical design of the poster series for this particular
event, I wanted to represent it in a fun, lively and engaging way to
attract avid attendees and potential viewers.
Rationale:
The ambiance from live theatre performances, busker acts and
natural lighting come together to make ‘Fringe Festival’ as magical
as it is. Therefor, the colour palette chosen represents golden hour,
which is the most popular time to attend. Using contrasting tones to
highlight events and the silhouette illustrations.
The Typography needed to be legible but also intriguing, opting
for a semi-decorative sans serif in ‘Belgrad’ for the main title and
incorporating elements found in certain acts for each. ‘Avenir’ was
used for all body copy – giving me alternative options for hierarchy.
