DESERT RENDEZVOUS
1968 Alfa Romeo - Bertone 'Carabo'
UE4 | Substance Painter | Affinity Photo
For a while now I've wanted to skill up on landscape creation [next stop Runtime Virtual Textures!] so I took this project as an opportunity to do so. Featuring the then innovative and futuristic wedge shaped Carabo the focus was more on the environment creation and learning the tools/processes involved as well as in shot exploration; so the vehicle and photo-realism take somewhat of a back seat at times;).
I utilised Brushify/Quixel Megascans 3D assets, decals and surfaces [and customised them] using material functions and vertex material blending with some shader textures being created in Substance Painter. I kit bashed some geo for the headlamp louver opening mechanism and modelled some other minor car features that weren't included as well as blockers.
It's a full CGI /RTX scene using SkyAtmosphere/ExponentialHeightFog/Sunsky and Volumetric Clouds with local particle clouds using a manual exposure and post process lens effects. This is Preview 7 v4.26 [soooo many DXGI crashes it hurts but i dig the clouds..]
Some tweaking in Affinity Photo.
Model purchased from CGtrader's desmonster.
Hope you like and thanks for looking 0-0!
