Flock Bulb for 3M 2016
This is a light fixture designed for 3M’s Optic Fiber Light String. We developed a flock bulb which, because of its characteristics as an optical fiber (primarily used in automobiles or as light fixtures during construction), enables ordinary customers to cut the product easily.
It is compatible with existing light fixtures with light bulbs and can be used to produce various effects with various flock bulbs.Users can cut the optic fiber light string as they want and install lighting in a variety of shapes and sizes.
Process
We experimented with various combinations of circles, semicircles, and quarter-circles. Based on the roughly sketched image of a croquis note with a pen and a colored pencil, we worked on the shape of the string by directly hanging it from the ceiling
