Children at home
Gajusz is a non-profit organization which operates in Poland, that aims to provide comprehensive care for children with chronic and incurable diseases. Gajusz's efforts are focused to give the children a chance to receive their cure at home, allowing them to live an everyday life within their families. The organization not only provides medical and psychological assistance, it also carries a constant fund-raising activity to help families create a suitable environment for the treatments at home and to afford medicines which are often rare, expensive and required on a daily basis.
Anna, 4. Born with a genetical disorder, Anna is the youngest of Gajusz's assisted.
Amelia, 5. Born with severe genetical disorder, Amelia lives on her family's farm, under the lovely care of her mom and grandma.
Martyna, 14. Even if she suffered severe cerebral damages at her birth, Martyna's kept the ability to interact with the world, she is particularly engaged with pets, and spend her day in company of her cat and dog.
Patryk, 10. Affected by a rare and serious skin disease, Patrik not only suffered the physical pain, but has also been victim of prejudice and exclusion by those doctors who were supposed to help him. After his first three terrible years of life, with the help of Gajusz he and his family finally managed to start a normal life at home again.
Przemek, 14. Despite he is affected by muscular dystrophy, his teenage life goes on between school and the Internet.
Oliwia, 16. Two years ago, after a car accident which dropped her in a long coma, she was diagnosed a degenerative genetic disease, since then she's slowly loosing every ability to move and communicate.
Wojtek, 14. He suffered from brain damage at his birth, and his conditions recently worsened, forcing him to move to an hospital.
