Characters, textures and emotions for Inktober 2020

Characters, textures and emotions for Inktober 2020

This year for the Inktober drawing challenge I experimented with some new techniques and instruments. I worked with characters, silhouettes and emotional expression of my illustrations. That's why I got different illustrations which I can present like two series: Characters (and textures) and Emotional sketches.
Characters

Working with these illustrations I focused on the stories about characters. I used collage techniques mixed with ink and pencil drawing to create a harmony of silhouette and environment. I tried to express emotions through the mood and plastic of bodies. I used the official prompt list of Inktober 2020. Here are the themes: buddy, hope, dig, music.
Emotional sketches

It was important for me to understand and catch my emotions and sensations about each theme while I’ve making these sketches. Expression, dynamic and shapes. The main instruments were ink, brushes and pen. The themes: dune, outpost, sleep, disgusting, slippery, storm, dizzy, crawl.

Some sketches to show my working process.

I also made a couple of experimental posters with different moods to see how my illustrations could work in context and how they can speak with people.
I created a special sketchbook for this Inktober and now I have a small book, where all my illustrations tells a story about this month.
