This design, created as a submission to SmashingMagazine.com's monthly desktop wallpaper collection, was featured for the month of September 2013.
The piece was created to be a visual representation of the celebration of September 19th, which is "International Talk Like a Pirate Day," and I wanted to create something that represented pirates in a way that wasn't as masculine as they are usually represented.
