AMP Fest is a global music festival that aims to celebrate Hip-Hop culture while promoting visual artists, local food businesses and Hip-Hop Artists who are considered to be on the rise. This festival is open to everyone but caters to
young adults interested in celebrating Hip-Hop and having an unforgettable experience.

New York
Why New York City?

New York City is a place with many different cultures and origin stories. For example, Hip-Hop was originated in the South Bronx in the 1970s. Since then, the city has given birth to artists like Jay-Z, Nas, Biggie Smalls, DMX, etc. New York is also infamous for their theater, dance, literature, music, and art. The mix of traditions and cultures within New York City was the main inspiration for this project.

AMPfestNYC | Naming

AMP comes from the words, sample, and amplify. While those words all relate to music, the important word is sample. Sampling has been a part of Hip-Hop since the 70s. From then to now, sampling is still widely used by many Hip-Hop artists and producers.
AMP is also an acronym for Art, Music, People. AMPfestNYC not only showcases music, but also has an art exhibition to promote underrated New York based visual artists.

AMPfestNYC | Colors

Since AMPfest is a global Hip-Hop festival, I wanted to have colors representing the brand outside of AMPfestNYC. So, I choose yellow, blue, and red to represent AMPfestNYC, while AMPfest's primary color is orange. If I were designing for AMPfestSEA or AMPfestSTL, the posters and logo colors would be different from the "original" orange.
Posters

Creating posters was essential for this project because each poster was created with a different purpose. Some posters are made for advertising, some are for people to purchase, and some are displayed on the stages.
These posters can be found around the city because of the information on these posters.
These posters are posters that anyone can buy and collect.
These posters are posters that are only viewed on the music stages in Central Park.
Artist Cards

Artist cards are cards that give you some information about the artists performing. The cards have the artist's name, age, where they are from, a Spotify code, and a small bio about who they are. The Artist Cards look different compared to the other designs I made because I pulled colors from past albums or singles. For example, IDK's concept album. "Ishereal?" is blue so, his artist card and setlist poster is also blue. I do the same thing for the VIP tickets and posters.
Instagram

I use instagram to promote the AMPfestNYC and I also animate the Artist cards. You can check Instagram now! @AMPfestNYC.

Ticket Design

For the tickets, I focused on layout, design, and hierarchy on these ticket designs. Stylistically, I wanted the VIP tickets similar to be similar to the the collectible posters and artist cards.
Nike x AMPfestNYC

Lastly, I wanted to create clothing and shoes. Hip-Hop isn't a genre. It is a culture and fashion has always been a part of that culture. From Run DMC and Adidas to Kanye West and his Yeezy collection. So, I wanted to create a collaboration between Nike and AMPfestNYC. I was able to come up with some simple shoe and sweatshirt designs using the AMPfestNYC colors.
