The project was created as a part of Bang Bang Education Identity Course led by Svyat Vishnyakov. The task was to create a cool identity for music direction. I chose doom metal.
Doom metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that typically uses slower tempos, low-tuned guitars and a much "thicker" or "heavier" sound than other heavy metal genres.
My favorite band, Black Sabbath, had a huge influence on the subgenre. Their songs became prototypes of doom metal, and the name of the abstract doom metal festival Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
The key idea of identity is power chords. Powerful sound of doom metal is almost built on these chords. They make a guitar sound more powerful and heavy. Power chords formed the entire identity.
The typographic grid is based on power chords, and its grid progression is set to a ratio of 1.666. The noise effect is also used for photos, like the noisy sound of the fuzz effect. In the doom metal, it is used more often than distortion effect.
