Racer Soaps - Packaging and display design

Concept design for a fictional soap company complete with custom display stand. The idea was derived from the Soapbox Derby- a competition held in the US since 1933. This is a youth program where children design cars powered only by the force of gravity and compete for the fastest track time. While the cars were once made out of soap boxes, in later years the materials and rules were widely expanded.

As this was a packaging design exercise, these cars are obviously neither fast, nor aerodynamic, but rather fit the child-like palette and traditional racing aesthetic that is often associated with the competition.

The soap boxes were derived from an assigned template, and the display stand was a custom build, made out of foam core, hardboard, and 40 lb cover stock.
