Fragments of a process

This project showcases a series of artworks with typography in the center. Type design and visual arts in general are a huge passion of mine and I often receive the request to show or post my process or a bit of the behind-the-scenes.

Making letters is not the same as making a font or a typeface. Typography can be so much more than just a font. With this I try to show a little of what it takes to design letters or letter artwork. And I want to show people typography can be more than a bunch of them standing in a line meant to be read. I want you to view the form and see the abstract shapes, not the symbols. Only then can you appreciate type and make letters yourself. Right?

My workflow definitely isn't perfect but in my opinion it doesn't have to be. Proceed at your own risk. ;-)

TLDR; Making letters is fun. And it really doesn't have to be difficult.
