"Brand New Suit"

With an ever changing world, gentrification, and bombardments of distractions, we sometimes forget the history that surrounds us. Architecture that once housed people, businesses and especially stories, now blend into its surroundings. This installation titled “Brand New Suit” consisted of covering an forgotten building, slated to be demolished for redevelopment, with a clean coat of paint in a smooth gradient way. Once, a well visited café and a popular bus station, is now a lost building hiding in plain sight. With only a 10 gallons of paint, this installation unearths the history and memories of a building and community just by giving it a brand new suit.
