Robert "Bo" Parfet's profile

Joining the Explorers Club

Philanthropist and entrepreneur Robert “Bo” Parfet founded the impact investing company Denali Venture Philanthropy in 2010, headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, near Denver. Robert “Bo” Parfet also founded the Seven Summits Awards Program, an organization that worked closely with the Explorers Club to offer grants to students pursuing research in health care-related fields.

The Explorers Club was founded in 1904 in New York City with the mission of promoting scientific exploration by offering its support to education and research in scientific fields. Members of the Explorers Club have been responsible for many important historical “firsts,” including first to the surface of the moon, the first to the North and South Poles, and the first to the summit of Mount Everest.

Today, the club consists of around 3,500 members on every continent and in more than 60 countries. There are currently 34 chapters of the Explorers Club around the world. To be considered for membership in the Explorers Club, potential members must have participated in a meaningful way in field science research during exploration. Potential members carry out expeditions designed for field research in destinations that are unknown or little-visited. The club has also extended an invitation to members of the National Eagle Scout Association and the Girl Scout Golden Guides to consider membership applications.

To apply for membership, download and complete the application and send it in either by email or regular mail. Dues for members vary based on the specific classification of membership.
