NASA's Space Your Face is a 3D interactive web communications product housed on the www.nasa.gov web portal allowed NASA to use viral marketing as a means to further educate the public about the benefit of NASA's research and space exploration on everyday life. Having reached over 1 million hits since its launch, the NASA version of Elf Yourself enables users to upload their own image onto a computer-generated astronaut body that appears either on the moon or Mars based on the user's selection. The user is then able to engage in activities such as dancing on the moon or Mars, moon walking, planting the flag, playing golf, floating in zero G's.
