Silvi Logo Rebrand Challenge

Back in August, SILVI a US based construction material company started an open logo rebrand challenge on LinkedIn. When I came across the challenge, I couldn't resist but give it a try! 

I along with many other designers and agencies shared their designs privately with the company. After the logo rebrand was over, SILVI did share the final design that they choose — but they have yet to use the new logo.  

Here is what I presented ...
To start something new, we must look at what we have done before. This was the inspiration for the logo — going back to the roots!
💡 The idea: The challenge was to make sure that the owners of SILVI felt that the iconic ‘Diamond’ shape and the colours isn’t lost in the remake of the logo. That’s why I made sure that the diamond shape is part of the logo but in a subtle way. The name of the company now has the iconic diamond shape across it in small details. The new unique ‘S’ icon represents the brand along with smaller details such as establishment date and location of the company, shows the rich history of the company in a respectful way.
Let's take a look at some of the pointers which definte the reasons why we choose make this logo. This will give you a clearer picture of the design chioces made.

Problems in the old logo:
❌ The diamond shape doesn’t allow the name SILVI to shine.
❌ The placement and elements of the icon aren’t visually pleasing.
❌ Cannot represent other group companies in a hollistic manner.

Solutions in the new logo:
✅ Keeping the iconic diamond shape within the name but in a subtle way.
✅ Creation of a unique icon with emphasis on ‘S’.
✅ Bold, straight font for SILVI, and a continuity between the main logo and group companies.
✅ Addition of smaller elements to enhance the logo.

Now that we have defined colour variations, let's give you a sense of how the logo can come into application. Here are some examples of the logo being used in clothing, construction hard hats, staff IDs, stationery, as well as a concrete mixer. These are just an indication of how well the logo can be used, but not limited to.
