Our project is inspired with a graphic work «Verdriet», 1914 by Dutch artist Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita. We’d like to support Rijksmuseum’s goal to open art for everyone and to provide it for new designs. The main idea of our performance is a synthesis of history and present moment. What’s happen in your mind in a minute when you look at the piece of art? What is the first emotion you feel? How does such experience influence your inner world ? We created a chance for visitor to dive into masterpiece, to explore the spirit that artist filled his work with. It’s an exceptional moment of watching picture alive and be part of it in real time.
We’d like to keep in secret the real meaning of our performance and leave exploring of emotion and personal story for audience. The only thing we could say is that it’s a conversation of woman with herself.
