Sestra
Sestra is an independent industrial / dark techno and EBM label based in Paris. The label was set up in 2020 and I was entrusted with its artistic direction and graphic design. I approached this project by seeking to highlight the link between volumes / typographies and textures as well as the diversity that is found in the labelās music. āSestraā or āŃŠµŃŃŃŠ°ā means 'sisters' in Russian. I worked on both types of writing using two distinct styles: sans serif typography and script - to always reflect diversity. This then allowed me to tie them together and create a new, original form of writing, while echoing the bond that can unite sisters. The visual identity is based on the representation of these various scripts, while playing on the way they interact with other elements: the typography sometimes seems linked (by being engraved or embossed) with the textures created for the label.
