Working with leadership, this logo theme was created in response to the onset of Covid-19. People were living in fear. The financial, spiritual and emotional distress were palpable. From behind our closed community center doors and under the Salvation Army's shield, The Kroc Center wanted to connect with the community during this dark and uncertain time. To speak kindness and actionable love in small and safe ways. Partnering with Heroes Holiday Lighting, a day was picked to "light up" the Kroc as a beacon in the night, to be a visible hopeful presence in the community, help people feel not alone, and inspire them to also "speak hope" to their fellow neighbors.

This Brand moved through all collateral materials from March 17 (when the Kroc Center shut its doors) until April 12 when The Salvation Army mandated a "no report to work status." The goal was to connect and stay present and helpful to our neighbors, members and Kroc church.

Here is a video collage of the physical event of "lighting the Kroc." It was a social media post and featured on Channel 3 news and in the Omaha World Herald.

Behind the closed Kroc doors, our team was still hard at work, dreaming and thinking of ways to #SpeakHope to our neighborhood. We did this by converting our Sunday services to being pre-recorded, creating school supplies distribution days for families with school-aged children, and developing an email touchpoint weekly with Kroc Members, providing news, and online videos of classes and programs to help them maintain normalcy during shut-down.
