CORPORATE GIFTS for the creative industry (CONCEPT)
Stainless steel rod that becames an office tool

The Chalenge. I'm always finding office suplies that have been tossed away. Some day, at the studio, i realize the amount of corporate gifts that end up going to waste. We are talking about large quantities of plastic products that ended up being spoiled before they had the opportunity to be used. So i thought:

How can we innovate in corporate gifts while still keeping them relevant?

This being a product that is produced on a large scale it would only make sense that its material should be as recyclable and widely versatile as possible so that it serves as an alternative for a large number of office suplies. And nothing better for this situation than stainless steel. This allows us not only to guarantee that all material will be recycled practically 100%, but also the opportunity to take advantage of all its mechanical properties.

Strategic design approach.  This range of products allows brands to demonstrate their position on the issue of environmental impact by allowing them to continue to promote their companies. It was equally important to make the products continue to be relevant to the office context, both at a functional and look&feel level. The spiral (LOOP) appears here as the most essential and transversal element to the whole range of products, unveiling new possibilities of the material and the way of interacting with it.

Proof of Concept. I started by testing on a simple aluminum rod the different mechanical possibilities that the material offered. I started by bending, twisting, sharpening the ends and trying to find ways that would prove useful to replicate some functions of the existing office utensils.

The Rod. First, we start by sharpening both sides of the rod. Then we fold in order to take a turn and a half. Some tools require a good grip and that is why the diameter of this turn is adjusted according to the comfort and performance you want to give to each type of product.

Clip. The tightening of the rod allows to create an opening in the loop that can hold a large amount of paper

Inkless Pen. The stainless steel makes it possible to leave a trail of "ink" on various types of surfaces.

Point. Sharp point like a compass.

Scissor. As sharp as the scissors.

Stationery Cutter Knife. Blade with cuts to remove the blunt end.

Branding. Laser engraving to promote brands.
