Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved toys that move, Hornby Trains, Scalextric Cars & everything RC related. So I thought it would be pretty cool to recapture some of my youth here through the art of CGI.
I chose this BR Thompson B1 Class purely on the basis of its colours, the contrast of black, white, red & yellow works so well here. The train was modelled in Maya, materialed in Photoshop/Substance & rendered in V-Ray 5.
In the future I would love to do some animations of this project.
Below is a representation of one of three train models, that you're able to pan around and zoom into via Sketchfab. The model has had to be optimized so that it meets the 100mb file size limit. I have also used Sketchfab's own materials as to keep that limit as low as possible.
