Juice Cable Packaging Redesign

Juice Cable is a functional packaging for a charge cable, it has been manufactured using 100% recyclable corrugated card. Its primary function allows it to be converted to a phone stand, therefore reducing overall waste. Consumers will be inclined to keep the packaging as it can be used in conjunction with the product itself.

I was inspired to produce this corrugated cardboard packaging as a replacement for Juice’s original non-recyclable single-use polymer packaging. Additionally, my packaging redesign mimics the same overall brand DNA of the original packaging, using centralised text and a visual representation of the product on the front of the packaging itself.
My packaging uses colorful, eye-catching graphics on the front of the packet which target the younger demographic. The packaging comes in a variety of different colours. Notably, the packaging is manufactured in the same colour as the cable itself.
Juice Cable's recyclability and waste reduction would appeal to those who are environmentally concerned. The net of the packaging is an all-in-one design and requires no extra parts. Therefore, the packaging can be tightly packed during the distribution process, minimising overall waste. Additionally, the packaging uses no glue or toxic paints but instead uses locking tabs to hold the packaging firmly together. The overall shape of the product is based on the design of a ‘juice ’ drink pouch. The inside of the packaging also includes cardboard tabs to secure the cable product instead of plastic wire fasteners. The front face includes an embossed logo making the packaging more tactile and further enhancing its visual appearance to the consumer. The embossed logo does not only give texture to the packaging but also provides extra grip for a phone when reassembled into the phone stand position.
