Retriever Merchant Solutions's profile

Worldpay Becomes Payment Solutions for Retail

Headed by Brian Kamstra, Retriever Merchant Solutions (RMS) is an Indiana-based payment processing company that employs roughly 225 sales representatives and office personnel. Retriever Merchant Solutions is also a top independent sales office for Worldpay, formerly Vantiv.

In October, Worldpay announced that it secured a domestic card scheme that obtained licenses for providing payment processing solutions in Argentina. With this deal, Worldpay will become the largest global acquirer already processing billions of transactions across 146 countries and 126 currencies. This will also be Worldpay's latest expansion into Latin America.

This is a major breakthrough in the payment processing industry. Previously, Argentina only provided two payment providers to work with locally, but regulatory changes have created an opening in the market making it possible for new companies to enter the field.

Outside of regulatory changes, external factors are creating the need for access to more than two providers. The pandemic and the increasingly globalized society are expected to increase the need for merchants in the country to operate on a global scale. Furthermore, e-commerce is expected to double in the next three years and much of this will be through mobile sales.

For Worldpay, the deal comes at an opportune time when online commerce is accelerating globally. The company will provide merchants the ability to trade across one point of integration while providing a more seamless payment experience.
