While there are many fashion collections which have been very successful in their attempt to shed light on the beauty of architecture, one thing that plays an essential role in construction without which these striking structures would not have been made is “scaffolding”-a temporary structure on the outside of a building used while constructing, repairing, or cleaning the building, which often goes unnoticed as a source of inspiration for artists as it is often overpowered by the architectural structures behind it.
These amorphous structures which can be broken down into simple lines created by wooden planks and metal poles cross paths with one another to create intricate geometric shapes. The structure as a whole as well as the interplay between the positive and negative spaces, have inspired my collection which consists of bold and experimental, structural pieces formed around the body which shed light on the beauty and intricacy of the scaffolding.
