Fedeli alla linea is a short film made for the VFX course of my degree in cinema engineering. It’s the story of a drug addict who organizes a kidnapping in a (not so) dystopian world. It's my favorite project done during the studies. It was a team project without defined roles, anyway in the post-production phase I mainly worked on the opening titles and other minor VFX.
For those opening titles I used Photoshop and After Effects. I got inspiration from True Detective for the double exposure and from Trainspotting for the lines and text animation. Film layers, textures and particles completed the job.
Each title,alternately on a black or white background, is a freeze frame of the current shot. This helps the editing creating some ellipses on the first scene.
