Nasruddin: the Sufi storyteller puppet carved from basswood, left rough with no finish. His robe is an old Michael Jordan tee shirt.
Nasruddin in another classic story looks in the wrong place for his key.
Above, the artist and his long-time pal and mentor, seen in younger days. Nasruddin hasn't aged a bit, but the artist? Somewhat.

Below, a young woman of low caste is getting water at the well. Nasruddin approaches and asks for some water. She tells him she is of low caste, and he will not want the water she has drawn. Nasruddin tells her, "Sister, I do not care about your social history. I only wish to drink a little water."
Below, Nasruddin and his friend Tekka (not in the traditional stories) converse in the town square. Tekka is telling Nasruddin that if he says there's free bread across town, the long line at the baker will dissolve, and they can buy the freshest bread. Tekka spreads the rumor, everybody runs across town. Nasruddin goes to buy bread, but Tekka hesitates. "Everyone is saying there's free bread. What if it's true?" and he runs off.
Below, is a puppet from a newer tale of Nasruddin. The man himself can be seen in the upper cabin, with the captain and copilot below. A strange link moves in the front window, and occasionally the cow opens its eye. The engine turns, generating the warping of space-time that propels the ship.
