"Great leaders have three things; inner light, inner vision and inner strength."

This work from almost three years ago came back to me yesterday after I recieved a beutiful comment:
"Really moved by your work and journey in this liminal land. So deep, moving, meaningful. I have a close native friend who struggled with the darkness and disappeared 3 years ago to the week this was posted. I came upon this image then and shared it with his sister who told me in the Cree beliefs a person becomes a bird for a year after they pass before returning to spirit. There were several special encounters with a bald eagle in that time. Thank you."
I read the comment few times, then I looked at the picture.
It was one of my early works, created when I was still figuring out the process. Looking at it now I could see all the mistakes damping the powerful vision trying to shine through the image.
The picture was calling me, saying "it's time to make me the way I should be, to take care of me. The message I'm carrying is really important. It has to be repeated once again. It needs to be shared once more."
I couldn't say no. I took care of the picture, careful not to change it too much, enhancing the details to keep the spirit intact. To make it the way I imagined the first time.

This entanglement of creative process with time is fascinating.
Images from the past coming back to join the present moment again, catching a breath before disappearing under the surface of time.
Just like our thoughts, traveling back and forth in time, from the future to the past, rarely visiting the present moment to take a breath.
Here and now is where the light of wisdom can be found.
Light that shines through the chaos, showing us the way.
You don't have to look for it in the past or in the future.
