The Diviner's Legacy//Book 1//by E.K. Barnes
I designed and illustrated the book cover. The first book for the series is currently available for purchase in ebook and paperback form. This is the first real book cover I've created and I loved every minute of it.
The author wasn't really sure what they wanted the cover to look like, so I created a bunch of different graphic images and illustrations to show her. Some of them were cool, some were too girly, others just didn't feel right, and one even looked like a comic book. It took about 8-10 tries to come up with the perfect image and once I did, everything else just fell into place.

The Cover Illustration
Above is the social media ad I posted on my Instagram and Facebook to help promote the book release. I call it an Anime Chibi ad (Chibi is a Japanese slang word describing something small). This was done with the author's permission.
I turned the cover image that I was told looked like a comic into a comic book cover for fun. I did it for fun and there are currently no plans for a comic series.
This was one of my original Ideas for the cover that was shot down. The author and I both agreed that it would make for a nice poster.
