The beginning of something different
At the start of June 2020, I participated in the annual HNG Internship which is a remote internship that is designed to find and develop the most talented software developers and designers across the world.

A task was given to create a futuristic app concept of our choice. This was to be delivered with 1 week on both design and development. I contacted my very good friend Chizo Nwazuor who is an excellent Front-End Engineer to see how we could brainstorm some ideas and bring to life.
We had several ideas for an app but AnyVoice stood out among all of them, we loved the idea and we were really excited to see how it would turn out.
Bringing the app together
During our user research, we identified our main target audience as young people, basically, those between the ages of 10 - 25 years old, who are eager to know how other people sound like. Some personalities we looked out for are outgoing, good humour, fun, youthful, very open-minded, and a good spirit of adventure. This made us look towards having bright and vibrant colours for the design.
Putting the user first
I needed to have a user-centered design approach on this project as it is on every design project. I took time off to do some competitive research to take a look at other mobile voice changing apps, I noticed that this was a really futuristic app idea cause there wasn't any app on both the play store and apple store that had this as a fully functional app, the closest to this was a Voice Changing app with effects. That made things a lot more interesting for me, and I really needed to think critically and come up with ways to bring this concept to life with design. I took note of our target users, who were most likely my age grade, and focus on their needs in each feature/stage of the app design.
Information Architecture
Information architecture is made to show the navigational structure of the mobile app and how content will be presented to a user when they are interacting with the app. Organizing and categorizing information allows users to move through the mobile app effectively and efficiently.

Design showcase
Showcasing the designs for AnyVoice during the internship was amazing. I also received several positive feedback from a lot of people across different platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, and Slack workspaces. For a concept design with just 1 week to deliver on both design and development, I’m really proud of the work and how it turned out.
