SciFi and Dieselpunk

SciFi and Dieselpunk
I have a great love for SciFi imagery that feels old. Ridley Scott set the ultimate precedent for this with Blade Runner, and Mad Max certainly had a fair share in establishing the genre. Neuromancer, Akira, The Matrix – they have all mastered the art of making the future look faded, jaded and devoid of any gloss.
Both in commercial projects and in my personal work I've been drawn to this approach to Science Fiction.
Some of my attempts in this field have made it into 'Spectrum' and '3x3 Mag', for which I'm very grateful.
The image below is called 'The Foe' and has been turned into a limited edition giclée print for my show 'OORTSCHII' in 2020.
