The (50cent) Diwali Gift Box

Every year The Accord Group of Hotels sends out over 500 boxes of chocolates celebrating the festive season. 
The brief was to design a box that would be easy to produce and send via courier. The budget for producing each box was Rs.26 (approximately 50cents). This pre determined production cost not only posed a challenge but also helped in becoming the guildine to finding the final design solution.

The box became a book.. A book, that contain
ed 6 short stories and 6 chocolates and a lamp.
Rangoli is a decorative design made in living rooms and courtyard floors during Hindu festivals typically consisting of bright colors. They are meant to be sacred welcoming areas for the Hindu deities. No matter which part of India you come from, you are bound to be familiar with this 'art form".
 
Taking inspiration from the the grid based (dots) Rangoli,
bespoke typography was created for the cover of the "book".
