Renovation Design Concept
The existing interior hall design originating from 70s & 80s. A decision was taken to preserve elements of these design features, combining this with modern design styles, in order to convey a sense of a pleasant surprise & not a harsh contrast of styles. A colour palette was chosen that encompasses influential shades from the 60s, 70s & 80s. Existing moulding & ceiling fretwork were conserved, however repainted to white. The ceiling is also home to a large mirror & a glass chandelier which serve as a focal point of the room, creating play of lights & a shimmering effect. A seating zone is located in the background of the scene, which is characterised by light wood panelling, carpet flooring & vividly coloured furniture.

Render 1 depicts moving panels, which can both be used to divide space according to artists & exhibited works. The render also illustrates visual aids for visitors with visual impairment. Soft furniture is aligned centrally, however can be moved if so desired by visitors. Moving shadows are designed to reflect the exhibition mood & topic.
