Located in the southwest corner of Colorado, Telluride is an attractive destination for hikers due to its pristine nature and numerous trails. One of the most popular hikes is to Bridal Veil Falls. This hike begins approximately two miles out of downtown and ascends to the top of Bridal Veil Falls, which is the tallest free-falling waterfall in the state.

The hike goes 1.2 miles up a gravel trail, with switchbacks so hikers can keep a steady pace, to the base of the falls. To get to the top of the falls, climb another three quarters of a mile. There is a power plant at the top of the falls - go through a large opening in the gate in order to go down an old mining road toward the Bridal Veil Basin, where there are many more options, including hiking to Silver Lake or Ingram Peak, both short but strenuous stints, or taking a longer trek through the wildflowers to Blue Lake and Mud Lake. These trails pass by many old buildings remaining from the mining days, as well as a number of beautiful lakes and meadows.
