My inspiration came from back in the time the writers had a special connection with the typewriter.
In this logo for the Irish Writers' Centre, I wanted to capture the romantic idea of the typewriter evoking the moment when the writer sits down at their desk with a stack of white paper, checks the two coloured ribbon and starts hitting the heavy keys making that distinctive sound.
The colours chosen for the logo are black and red, reminiscent of the typewriter ribbons to give that authentic look to the new image of the Centre.
