Morgan Silk - Abbots Bromley Horn Dancers

Фотография
Morgan Silk photographed the Abotts Bromley Horn Dancers in Staffordshire, England, as part of a wider project exploring British Folklore. This unique tradition, which dates back to 1226, is the oldest recorded dance in England and involves 12 characters in an array of costumes: a musican with a melodion, 6 deer-men carrying 11th century reindeer antlers, a young bowman, a boy with a triangle, a Maid Marion and the jester complete with pig's bladder! Their ritual dance is performed only once a year, every September on Wakes Monday but for the first time in their history they gathered together outside of the scheduled dance to be photographed by Morgan who managed to isolate each character for individual portraits in their fascinating attire.
